CINE TEKÓ | COUNTERCOLONIAL CINEMA SCHOOL
A project launched in 2024 with resources from the Biguá Project, CINE TEKÓ is a film school for indigenous people and other marginalized groups. Our goal is to forge a countercolonial cinema that portrays the world with an ancestral, original, native and marginal point of view; that materializes our desire, as indigenous peoples, to portray and be portrayed through our own perspective, concept, and experience.
In 2025, Cine Tekó was awarded by the Local Actions - Cultura Viva Edition (2024) public grant , with resources from the Aldir Blanc National Policy (PNAB) of the Federal Government, Ministry of Culture, City Hall of Rio de Janeiro and Secretariat of Culture. The project was also awarded in the "Fluxos Fluminenses" public grant, which also has resources from the Aldir Blanc National Policy (PNAB) and the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
